Me too, but I thought it was because I'm tethered to my phone.

Exact same thing to me as well. Does it on FireFox and Internet Explorer. I can watch embedded clips just fine however.

I've tried:

  • Deleting Cookies

  • Reinstalling Flash

  • Shutting Down PC

Right click over video for the settings menu, then de-select "Enable Hardware Acceleration"

I was watching some vids a hour or so ago, than it just died......  May try a restart.....

Edit: I re-started, and as soon as I brought up FF it crashed, which is very odd.  I restarted it, and youtube worked.....hrmmmmm

I hadthis same thing happen to me yesterday. After following the instructions quoted above, click refresh to refresh the page.
This should fix it. If not YouTube has a help page with this problem listed. The fix is there, and it is different for different browsers, but it's all good.
It is the result of some new compression tech or some such thing and it's causing problems for lots of people.

I had the same thing happen to me over the weekend after an auto update (I can't remember what was updated, but I think it was Adobe's Flashplayer).
I had to update my video card drivers (Nividia), and everything works fine.

Youtube stopped working for me. I had sound but no picture. Nothing worked until I updated my video driver. Now it's back to normal operation.
