It is a dupe but well worth watching again as a reminder of the terrifying power of a tsunami.

I've lived through several hurricanes and never seen anything like that. Damn.

How much do these small cars over there weigh?  Not doubting the power of the water, but damn those things seem to float up and away fairly easily.

I have a few simple rules for myself.

I don't live in a river flood plain.  I try to live near or on the crest of ridgelines.

I will NOT live at the beach.  Vacation, yes.  Live, no.

I would most likely NOT live in a place that is very seismicly active.  Certainly Japan would not be a place to live.

Not that my decisions really matter in the grand scheme of things, but it is better then playing russian roulette with nature.

Holy shit it took that F'ing house!! You can see the terror and helplessness in those peoples' faces.

I will accept 1 refugee by the name of Reon Kadena into my home immediately.

It's not the weight as much as it's that they are pretty watertight. Look at the heavier trucks floating down the road also. They are floating pretty well also.

Yep, and being one of those people on top of the house at the very end would really suck.

I'm surprised at the lack of hollering and wails from the people in the vid. I'd probably have made a lot of racket.

And that it was true SHTF looks like.  No amount of ammo or guns will save you, you need power, food, clean water, and medicine.

There are a couple of those videos were you see drivers in cars getting swallowed up and others were the drivers see it coming and are hauling ass to get away.

Bullshit.  Just bump-fire an AK into the water to show it who's boss.

Then when you have it's attention, rack the slide on your shotgun.  That water will flow the hell right back where it came from.

Scary.  That water was going inland for 6:22, and we don't really know how far inland the cameraman is or how long the inflow continued after he stopped filming.  Damn.

Look at the comments.

The kids do not realize that that was 50 degree water.

No you would not swim to safety.
