The progressive democrat of 1910 wasn't the progressive democrat of 2010. Remember, if your business was cash-based and dependent upon land (i.e., farmer or rancher), you did FAR better paying an "income tax" rather than federal property tax (which was the other realistic option). So, every time you start to lament the income tax, thank a farmer. |

Death by incrementalism. Social Security was only supposed to be for a small group of people. Now you can't escape it. Gradually they chip away slowly until the rights are gone. Look at gun control. That's the best case of incrementalism being applied by the government.
