Well, that's what they said when the progressives enacted a Federal income tax almost 100 years ago

"They promised that it would never go above 7%, and the richest people
would pay most of the taxes anyway. In this post we’re going to go
through the history of the income tax and how the income tax has changed
over the years despite it’s promises of making paying taxes simpler."

The progressive democrat of 1910 wasn't the progressive democrat of 2010.

Remember, if your business was cash-based and dependent upon land (i.e., farmer or rancher), you did FAR better paying an "income tax" rather than federal property tax (which was the other realistic option).

So, every time you start to lament the income tax, thank a farmer.

The Progressives also insisted our Social Security Number would NEVER be used for identification purposes.

The 19th Amendment was the Progressive's crowning achievement and sealed our Nation's fate.

Death by incrementalism.  Social Security was only supposed to be for a small group of people.  Now you can't escape it.  Gradually they chip away slowly until the rights are gone.  Look at gun control.  That's the best case of incrementalism being applied by the government.

A mans labor is his personal property. Personal property should only be shared if the owner desires to do so.

To agree with income tax is to admit you're a socialist.

It's wrong, it's always been wrong and should be stopped immediatley.

Also, all politicians should immediatley be removed from their fat cat retirement plans and join Social Security like the rest of us.

Then, Social Security should be phased out over time trying to impact the folks who ACTUALLY paid into it the least.

Your logic applies to all taxation schemes that I can think of.  Tariffs are placed on property.  Land taxes are on property.  I can't think of any form of taxation which doesn't tax a man's property.

Taxation is neccessary... period.  It is the amount of taxation and what our representatives do with the revenue is the problem.

Our politicians have been bought and paid for. And not by fkn hippies and po black folk.

Globalist entities control DC with money and power.

You all can keep talking in circles about party and welfare that left, right, up, down, liberals capitalists, blah, blah, blah.

None of it means shit.

If you want to restore the Republic, you need to get those fkn lobbyists and their money out of DC and out of the pockets of those crooked fkrs we elect. Swappin out the crooked fkrs, for different crooked fkrs from a different political party hasn't done jack.

It is not that they lie, they do. It has gotten to the point that they no longer even care to determine if what they are saying is a lie or not. The veracity of the statement they make is not even worth considering. The only value what they say has is:" Does this help me or hurt me." Truth is not part of the equation anymore. And we let them get away with it (or they do).

My problem is and has always been personal property tax.

To tax a mans land , home, car every year is extortion by the state.

But who gets to decide how much must be paid to the military?

Should the military be forced to live within a budget?

Should foreign aid/global welfare be considered military spending?

How many years of a man's life (how much of each day) should be forcibly allocated to support the military?

...

same thing applies to "temporary" taxes like some states that have sales tax will have a "temporary" sales tax increase, 20 years later it's still there.

Swapping out a democratic majority in the house for a Republican majority and swapping out senators has ensured that Obama agenda items like the massive healthcare atrocity won't pass. If you think that doesn't matter, then your grasp of the American political system can be charitably described as unsophisticated.

Well, in truth, historically it has just been a matter of degrees. Do you not think we would have SOME sort of healthcare bill that could morph into a single payer system if McCain had won?

With the advent of the Tea Party, there is finally some "push back," but many aren't holding their breath. We have nothing but history to go bye (pun intended), and that does not bode well long term.
