Threw in the BP pistol pic for fun. It is obviously a repro. The barrel has a fuse hole. Any info?

One that was made in shop class with a wiggly vise and a metal file?

Is there a breech plug?

Quoted:
Looks like a swivel gun.

Must be 16.8 mm; that would be .66 caliber or 16 gauge.

Thats a Kopie barrel. It's stamped right on the side.

Shipboard weapon, usually mounted to the railing. Good guess on his part.

Seems very small for a defensive weapon at sea......

This has no mounting holes at all. Just the fuse hole. Seems old. Smooth bore.

Here is a good link for identifying proof marks.  http://www.castpics.net/subsite/ProofMarks/Proofmarks.pdf

I can't see the fuse hole in the pictures.  Match locks were in use during the time of the Columbus explorations.  Flintlocks were in use until the mid 1800's.  The math locks required a lit length of wick type material fitted to a pivoting mechanism to fire a hand carried firearm, and had a tough hole that was ignited similarly to BP cannons.  The flintlocks and other period firearms had a flash hole that is basically just a hole drilled in the barrel.
