Do people not carry cash anymore?
I guess it's "old fashioned" |
Cash in my pocket all day every day..
I despise those f****ers that pay for one black and mild at the 7-11 with a C/C.. I cannot fathom not having a buckforty nine in your pocket.. Whew all better now. |
Cash and carry. No more plastic for me..(that goes for money and firearms)
I use my debit card for everything.
Haven't carried cash in years. |

I usually have some cash on me, but I'll use my debit card for any amount to keep from having a bunch of change.
I always carry cash. Credit card/computer systems have been known to go down once in awhile.

Me.
I take out $300 at a time and burn it down on every purchase I can. Less chance of having a CC number stolen, etc... and don't like debit cards. |
Nope I use debit/credit for everything I buy.
Do you still mail checks to pay your bills too? |
i always have $300-$400 I dont use checks or debit/credit card .
Debit card for the win.
If I ever have more than $20 in my pocket, I just came from the ATM. |
Maybe 20 bucks.
I figure i save money using a debit card by not losing track of coins. |

Quoted: I figure i save money using a debit card by not losing track of coins. That's probably true if you are discplined. I have heard claims by financial 'experts" that people spend more money when they use cards v. cash, not sure if it's true. I think they mean like impulse purchases when they are out shopping. I never shop |

I keep $100 for emergencies in my wallet and never touch it. Other then that I rarely have cash unless I am going to a cash only or cash preferred venue like a gun show or swap meet.
If I ever have cash on me its because my wife doesnt know it. I pay for everything with a debit card,

For a website allegedly full of persons who take preparedness seriously, who DOESN'T carry cash?
I always have cash on hand, I only use my D/C for online purchases. It's not like you can hand cash over through your monitor. |
I try to carry $500 or so. Usually between 300-800.
Its just foolish not to carry cash. If you're afraid to carry that much, at least carry $50. There is about no reason not to carry $50 |

about 100 or so Same here. I only use my debit card for gas and purchases that exceed the cash in my pocket. If I'm going out to dinner or to the gun store or something where I know how much I'll be spending I will bring enough cash with me. Shit, I still pay my gym membership in cash every month. |
Guess y'all don't do much Garage Sale / Flea Market shopping.
Without cash, you cannot. I picked up a Horton Crossbow for TEN BUCKS @ a garage sale last year. Woman thought it was a kids toy. She wasn't set up to accept "cards" ,but luckily for me, I had the cash on me! Edit...BTW when I told her it was a 160 lb'er and could shoot right thru her wall, she said "Get that thing out of here" |
I carry $100 in 20s and 10s on me, however anything over $10 I use my debit card, I don't have a credit card.

Cash is king. Yep, having cash in pocket has netted me a lot of deals that I otherwise would have missed out on. |
For you card guys, how do you pay your buddy for the lunch he picked up for you? How do you pay for the beer at the art fair? How do you pay for parking? Tip the doorman?
When i offer to pick up lunch for everyone at work, all the kids who want me to buy their food with six different cards end up going hungry. |
I always have some quck deal money on me. Usually ~$400-$500.
I have $6 american, and 50 dominican peso's from my trip in december in my wallet.
Only thing I need cash for is $20 bucks for a haircut at a cash only barber I go to. |
I try to keep $100 on me bare minimum.
When I'm doing well financially I'll carry up to $500. Women like it when you pay cash and they see the stack of $20s. |

I do have $50 tucked away in the wallet, $50 stashed at home, and $20 stashed in the car. Debit for everything else. |
I always have a little cash on me, but seldom use it.
I use my credit card almost all the time. I have a debit card, because it's my ATM card. Don't think I've ever used it as a debit card... don't see the point. |
