This is very disturbing

11% of Likely U.S. Voters think communism is morally superior to the U.S. system of politics and economics, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. But 77% disagree and say the U.S. system is morally superior. Thirteen percent (13%) are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here).

Communism calls for the elimination of all private property with everything owned in common, and voters even more emphatically reject it as an economic theory. Eighty-seven percent (87%) say, in practical terms, free market economies work better than communist economies. Only four percent (4%) say communist economies work better.

With the amount of people who are taking .gov handouts, this is not a surprise. I think the percentage in the country that favors communism/socialism is closer to 30-40%.

Remember..
There was a sort of Prophecy one Soviet made-"Americans will rise the flag of Communism themselves"(parapharased)-and that is coming true.

This poll doesn't surprise me one bit.  Kids, from the time they enter kindergarten, are being taught that communism is great.  I think many people would be horrified, if they knew what was being taught around the country at colleges and universities.

I wish that idiotic 24% could go and have a chat with the Czechs or the Poles and see how that worked out for them. Communism destroys nations. Most shitty economic situations from the last 100 years involve socialist (Keynesian) and Communist policies behind them.

Let those fuckers go live in NK or Cuba. Get them the hell out of this country.

Whether they'll admit it or not, I'd say at the very least, 50% of Americans desire a high degree of socialism.

Communism calls for the elimination of all private property with everything owned in common, and voters even more emphatically reject it as an economic theory. Eighty-seven percent (87%) say, in practical terms, free market economies work better than communist economies. Only four percent (4%) say communist economies work better.

False.  Communism doesn't call for the elimination of private property... communism is a system where such is a fact of life by VOLUNTARY CONSENT of everyone in that society.  Which is why the 4% who say communist economies work better that free markets are fucking stupid.  There simply aren't any examples of such a society, past or present.

If communism worked, it wouldn't require a dictatorship of the proletariat to shove it down everyone's throats.  People would practice it willingly as is the whole freaking POINT of communism.  The fact that those who believe communism is workable say it requires a period of dictatorship to achieve it belies it very foundational principle: that people can be completely selfless and never give a thought to personal gain.

No doubt.

There is a segment of the population who WOULD be better off under communism. At least from their standpoint.
They wouldn't do shit then, either, and those living better than them through hard work would be dragged down to their level. That is the best part to them, the comeuppance they wish upon all the rest.

We should have crushed them long ago. There will only be more, and more, and more of them.

Communism is a lie.  There is no communism. The free market is a natural law, imo, and it cannot be eliminated by any man or group of men no matter what law or penalty they devise.

Yeah? Id be interested to know:

1. what socio-economic level most of those 11% came from.
2. If they really know what true comminusm entails or if they have just heard bits and pieces.

News flash, suppression of the population is absolutley critical in order for Communism to work. Ive never seen a country willingly enter into the upper echalons of socialism/communism unless at the end of a gun. These people dont know a damn thing about what they are asking for. The "free government _________" comes at a staggering price. YOUR FREEDOM!

Communism / socialism extends far beyond government healthcare.

Well, it can and probably will be eliminated. At least for a time. As I said, there will only be more and more. ONly 11% voted for communism but what about the socialistic nanny state? Probably a slight majority, I'd bet. And of those who would vote against it, how many would willingly give up their nanny state handout?

Yeah, that's right. Not damn many.

All in all, I agree with you though. Problem is convincing all the rest. Good luck with that.

Better they have to swim to Cuba.
