"Charlie call us, we will totally make that happen. We'll do whatever you want," Kirkman said to Sheen. The producer then continued, still sending a message to the troubled actor, "We'll recast YOU as Rick. Andrew Lincoln will find something else to do."

He also confirmed that the new season will kick off where it left off, the explosion in the CDC building. "I still want them to be in the reactive phase of this incredibly intense thing that just occurred. What do we do now? I think that's where we are going to start," director Frank Darabont stated.

One thing that they won't explore is the explanation of how the zombie outbreak started. "I've made a vow never to reveal it in the graphic novels," said Kirkman who wrote the comic version. He explained further, "I don't know if we'll ever tell people how the zombies came about. I don't think it's important to the story which is about characters. When you delve into where they come from it delves into science fiction."

Nevertheless, new characters would be introduced as the old ones die. But Rick Grimes is guaranteed no coffin in season 2.

I say Sheen gets a part as a zombie who spends an entire episode futilely bumping into a closed door attempting to enter a whore house while wearing a blood stained t-shirt that says "Winning".

i bet the role they have in mind for him is a zombie who still has his memories and can communicate, but he's still a zombie and can control the other zombies so he's a kind of super zombie human hybrid

actually...... although im not a fan of sheen, and hate 2 1/2 men, his popularity, and car accident curiousity, might actually ensure the show stays on the air for a while to come, and not get cancelled, like every other show i like.

shows i like that were killed. although, i did see where stargate has been on 12 or more years, and has made over 380 episodes, so i guess thats pretty good for a show. i just wish firefly could have made some more episodes, i really enjoyed it.

1. stargate
2. stargate atlantis
3. stargate universe, ( in about 8 more episodes)
4. firefly
5. sarah connor chronicles
6. star trek enterprise with scott bakula
7. legend of the seeker
8. dollhouse

there are several more that i cant remember, that only made a few episodes, then died off...
