So Bluebell wasn't sold in CO until recently?
My favorite is Banana Split which I see you don't have. |

I don't get it...what's special about these?
Also, graters ice cream = best ice cream. Had a factory store right next to my house in Columbus |
|
FAIL
Where is the cookie dough???? Blue Bell is the best though. I never knew how good I had it here until I heard that it's a regional thing. |

Quoted: I have waited 14 years for this day. Today, I walked into a grocery store, in CO, and bought this: http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j242/colodude/bluebell4.jpg I believe that nearly all of their flavors are now made with high fructose corn syrup. There are much better ice creams out there than Blue Bell, IMHO. |

Blue Bell is awesome ice cream, I'm jealous.
I can't get it locally here.
|
|
Much higher milk fat content than most ice creams. If you've never had BlueBell you've never had good ice cream.
Brenham, where the BB factory is located, is about 4 hours away so I also didn't realize how good I had it until I ate other ice cream brands. My mom would never buy anything but BB and now I know why. We toured the factory a few years ago and got free samples. |

And how much does that cost for true half gallon? About $5. |

Quoted: where in CO? what store can it be found in? I am in eastern UT, i am up for the drive!!! They opened up a distibution center in Denver, so all Walmart/King Soopers/Walgreens/Sunflower Markets within a 100 mile radius of Denver have it. |
|
I used to live in Navasota and went to the creamery more than once.
I miss Blue Bell. Fuck NJ. |
|
Don't think I've ever had Blue Bell Ice Cream before. I have not had any ice cream that was bad though really. OP send some my way for testing.
|

Great Divide or Homemade Vanilla for me. And I'm an ice cream lover.
|

One of the best ice creams I have ever had, I can't find any where. When I was a kid I went to Baskin Robins and had strawberry jelly in chocolate ice cream. Little bitty chunks of jelly all through the chocolate. yummmmmmmm

Had a factory store right next to my house in Columbus +1 Every time we drive through, or stop to see family/friends in the Columbus or Cincinatti area, we stop at Graeter’s. Blue-Bell is good, but Graeter’s = best. And that's from a guy in Wisconsin where dairy is practically the state religion, and frozen Custard was invented, because ultra-premium ice cream wasn't quite fatty or rich enough... |
|
Tin Roof when they make it.
I live 20 minutes from the creamery |
|
I love Blue Bell ice cream, but my favorite is Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia.
I hate that it's made by hippie communists. |
|
My fav's are
Banana pudding homemade vanilla lemon custard They're all pretty damn good! CONGRATS, to you! Don't eat all of my bluebell. Another reason....................TEXAS FTMFW!!!! Yee-HAW |
|
Blue Bell is great! Check out the factory if you get the chance. Also there is a gun store nearby which claims the largest inventory of guns in TX (over 3,000) and I believe them. Anyone remember the name? It's out on Highway 50 I believe.

Store bought ice cream?? phhtt!
I'm making my own tonight - Irish Cream. I'll take it into work tomorrow and the odds are that it will all be gone in < 5 minutes. Also, Ben and Jerry's sold out –– the brand is now owned by a large, soulless corporation. |

You need Gelato Good Gelato is teh heaven. I had the best in Rome last year and it was unbelievable. |

I am not at all ashamed to admit that on far more than one occasion, I have had Blue Bell, for dinner.

Terrible ice cream, just terrrible. For store bought stuff Byere's is still the best. That said, home made stuff is where it's at.

If you are into ice cream, and I suppose you are if you're reading this, you have to try Graeters. They are in the process of expanding to national distribution and I think they are in Denver if you have Kroger stores. It's expensive, but if you're paying $5 for a half gallon, you're buying air. Graeters is a small batch ice cream that is hand packed. The ice cream is literally hand made, a couple gallons at a time and hand packed which means each pint / half gallon is packed by hand using a spatula type tool. Their most popular flavors are chocolate chip, mint chocolate chip and black raspberry chip. You have to try their chip ice creams if you like chocolate - their chips are from melted chocolate poured into the ice cream as it hardens - the chips are huge. It's expensive, but you have to try it at least once if you think your ice cream is good. Look them up at www.graeters.com and see if they are in your area or order some online. If you like ice cream you won't regret it.

I haven't tried The Great Divide before. How is it? I like their Cookies & Cream with some extra chocolate sauce on top.

Couldn't get it in Colorado (moved to Longmont), and discovered Gelatto. Finally got Graeters (choc, strawberry and vanilla) and moved to Texas where my wife and I discovered Blue Bell. All of that being said, the ice cream from my hometown is the best I've had to-date (Young's Jersey Dairy). |
