He set him up with the mexicans cause he didn't shoot the drug dealer guy and he was afraid he was gonna rat on the rest of them. Notice how he called them in the car after they stole the money and said 'make sure that tub is clean'.

Didn't the Ethan Hawke character watch Serpico? You can't try to be ethical when every other cop you work with is totally corrupt.
But Training Day was pretty entertaining though. |
