I will never understand why it's such a big deal to have them check your receipt

I don't have a problem with it since you haven't left their property yet-they don't know for sure you paid for it and theft is high.Even out here, there has been shit stolen from local stores by people just walking out with it like they bought it. |

Why is it that 90% of people in Walmart smell like mothballs and cocaine?

Am I the only person in the world to never have been receipt checked while walking out of Walmart with shit not in bags?

|
Dumbass. Amazon dot com has no receipt checker, often has better prices, free shipping, and in most cases, no tax.
It wouldn't make a good wal mart post, however. |
|
Screw Walmart, such a bastard corporation. I have bad story about that shit place...

Employee who touched box and pushed back probably needs to be fired. That seems to me to be pretty close to touching or having contact with the customer which shouldn't be acceptable. I'm pretty sure that's a level of liability that Walmart does NOT want.

I'm pretty sure that's a level of liability that Walmart does NOT want. If an employee touched you would you blade at 45 degrees and scream "YOU WILL NOT TOUCH ME" or would you use your wolf stare to dominant him? That guy wasted a lot of time over nothing. If Walmart wants to check your receipts then either show them the receipt or don't shop there. It really is easy. State law should not trump a private business right to conduct their business how they see fit. |

Easy way around this. Buy shit, put receipt at crotch region, either hanging out of the top of the pants, or unzip/button pants, place receipt, re-zip/button pants. Walk out with item(s) and make sure both hands are free.

If you don't like someone checking your receipt then shop somewhere else. Wal-mart keeps it's prices down in many ways, and one of them is through loss prevention. So instead of bitching about the the door nazi, bitch about yourself. You know they have the policy and you went there anyway.
Their store, their rules.

This 100% I would rather spend 5 seconds showing a receipt (even if I not required too) than spend 15 minutes arguing with some dumb ass. The world is turning into a bunch of Dickheads |

Agreed. Show they guy the damn receipt, you are in their store BTW. If you don't like the policy, don't go there. I bet these same idiots would complain if Walmart stopped checking and just raised prices to cover their stolen loot. "Ahh, WTF? Why don't they just ask for a receipt instead of raising prices on the middle class!?!?" |

There is a big difference between what is technically legal and what is normal behavior/what you should do. I CAN tell a cop he's a worthless asshole and his wife sucks cock. But should I? |

Some of us just remember when retail screened and managed their employees rather than confront every customer and imply they're part of a theft conspiracy unless they can prove they aren't.
|
|
It is well known that "shrinkage" AKA product loss {mostly} is from workers stealing, not the customers... After all, they have a loss prevention section with a lot of cameras..
I don't feel that customers should be hassled to prove they are the owners.. BATFE don't ask every guy coming out of gun show/gun store/ Sporting goods store to show receipts for guns or ammo... At SAM'S Club, which is a private club with membership.. sure they can demand receipts. But not anyplace with public access.. |

You know, I have shopped at Wal-Mart in one way or another for most of my adult life. I have never had anything interesting or dramatic happen to me while there either. I've seen some interesting people, but nothing has happened to me.

No, I mean as a business they can have certain rules that if you as a consumer don't like you have the choice of not shopping there. Costco will check your receipts but somehow since you pay for a membership it's ok in most people's eyes. I think that what walmart should do is post a big ass sign that says they will check your receipt as you leave because as we know sometimes pressure washers have a tendency to walk out of the store. |

IF my hands are full, FU and your check, if not and it's handy maybe, depends on if I'm in a hurry. I won't wait in line again like Best Buy wants during the holidays. Just walk by all the sheep, never been questioned or stopped. |

I just hand the checker my receipt, I've got more important stuff to do than worry about this " hassle". Some people seem to look hard for stupid shit to get worked up over. YMMV

Dur... |
