I paid off my tacoma last year and have been saving up to get a new car. Im debating on a Mustang GT Premium or a R/T Challenger. The Challenger is cheaper with a little less horsepower but also has more room. Only negative I can see with the Mustang is they are quit a bit more expensive then the Challenger. Challengers are not as common so Im not sure if thats good or bad. Might be cool to be one of the few people that has one or is the reason you dont see as many is cause they suck? The car bought will be a 2011 and buying one of each in proper arfcom fashion is not a option.

Friend of my dad just got rid of his 2010 Challenger because it had so many electrical problems.

Challengers are actually very common. They're a little more expensive to modify if you're looking for aftermarket performance stuff. I just traded my 07 Charger R/T (that's where my screen name comes from) and I loved the car. Never had any issues with the platform. The Chally is almost identical motor and interior wise, just a slightly different body. I can turn you on to some other forums if you want it. I would go Challenger over Mustang. I really wish I could have kept the Charger and got the truck too.

The Mustang is hands down the better car. More HP, better handling, better braking and arguably a better backseat. The Challenger looks better than the '11 Stang, and that is a from a died in the wool Mustang guy.

My mom has a 07 mustang so I would kinda like to get something diffrent just to give her shit about. |

Mustang all the way. You cannot buy a faster car for the money.
|
|
Challenger.............................but only because I already have a Mustang...
Really tho. the new 5.0 is the shit on turd island. Get a stang. |
|
Challenger: 4000lbs of shit that doesn't go and that didn''t even get a limited slip at first. Giant waste of time.
Mustang at least remained peppy and spry despite the weight. |
|
Unless you're doing professional drag racing, the Challenger. It looks a hell of a lot better and the speed difference is negligible unless you've got a career riding on it.
|
|
If you want to under perform in every category possible. Buy the Dodge.

Also, cruise this forum for a bit and see what people have to say about the Challenger: http://www.challengertalk.com/

Coming home from an out-of-town meeting today I passed a car hauler with a bunch of new Chevys on it... including a new Camaro convertible (red w/ black top). First I had seen in the flesh, didn't even know they were out yet. Good looking car IMHO, but I like the new Camaro in general. Between the two in your poll, I'd pick the Challenger. |

Mustangs are a dime a dozen. I'll see 25 for every Challenger on the road. The way I see it Mustangs are for sheepeople because they want to be like everyone else.

Challenger. Test drove both recently and really love the Dodge. Thinking of pulling the trigger on an R/T really soon.
I'm a Mopar fan, so I'm a little prejudiced to them. |

Or maybe its because Ford came out with a product there was a demand for five years before the competitor, priced it lower and gave it a better power to weight ratio. |
|
Do you care more about sound than reliability/non-boat-like-weight? Get a Challenger.
Do you want something fast, fun to drive, and not a pain to tinker on? Get a Mustang. I'm a Chevy guy. |

If you gave me a Challenger RT for free, I would sell it and put the money towards a Mustang Coyote 5.0 with a 6 speed, 3.73 gears and the Brembo brake package.
Make mine candy red. DC |

Challenger has a smoother ride and accelerates and brakes smoothly. In a Mustang, I feel like I'm riding in a Honda.
|
|
Im going to be using mine to mostly cruise and go on road trips. Probably no racing at all. I have a 07 tacoma I use for hunting and off roading so the new car will probably be my daily driver.

DC I'm going with this. No foreign pieces of shit for me! I have a good friend whos' dad owned a dealership, so he got a good deal on a brand new 2009 Challenger. It had so many electrical problems that he finally went to arbitration and returned it under the "Lemon Law".... Granted, one car doesn't make the heap - but still....... But I am a Ford guy at heart! |

If he wanted to make an objective argument, it would be about which one performs better since that is the purpose of both cars. But he wants to stay in his little world of 'alot of people have mustangs, so the challenger must be better' line of feelings. |

Do you want to go fast and look cool or just look cool??
Mustang for first option. All around better car. |
|
If it was that bad why did'nt he use the lemon law?
It was under warranty, so was covered repairs. |
|
Everybody and their brother has a Mustang nowadays, but Challengers are overweight.. If limited to those two cars, I'd get the Mustang because it is quicker around the track than a Challenger.
|
|
I think the Challenger is a better driver. He's looking for a daily driver's car. If the ride isn't comfortable and smooth, driving around sucks. Every second on the road isn't a race.

You could buy from a proud american company or a welfare taking piece of crap. The choice is clear.
I have two jeeps in the drive. The replacement will be a Ford. |
