OK, I'm COMPLETELY computer illiterate. Exactly why do you have a homepage, and what purpose does it serve? I thought a homepage was something you put together yourself and had pics and stuff of you.

A homepage is the page that automatically loads when you enter the internet.
Most of the time, it's the pre-programed site of whatever ISP you're using, but you can change that on most servers. See the task bar at the top of your screen? Is there a 'Tools' option? If so, click it. There will be a drop down menu. The last item should be 'Internet options.' When you click on 'Internet options', the first page will be the 'General' page. At the top of that page, you will see 'Home Page' and a discussion about how to change it. Just paste your favorite website's URL there and enter OK! at the bottom of the page. You're all set. Everytime you log onto the internet, this will be the first page you see. Eric The(Tutorial)Hun[>]:)] |

You want a fast loading homepage? Try "about:blank" then (Internet Explorer, might be called differently in other browsers)

Just to illustrate, I actually access this page via webtv. And I actually OWN a computer. I use webtv so I can hang out with the wife and watch tv, while still hanging here. As matter of fact, I even have two tv's in my living room. I know it sounds strange. Anyway, I will definately be setting up AR15.com as my homepage since this is pretty much the only place I visit anyhow. |
