There is a beautiful old train depot that the local community colledge bought and renevated. Its layout and sized are perfect for a 4-5 person family and is layed out very nice. How do I get the plans/blueprints?

Ok, hopefully they dont have an outrageous cost. I try to avoid as much government buerocracy (sp?) as possible.

If the local community college did a renovation, they probably have plans lying around somewhere.  You'll probably have better luck with them too.

Most small depots for a particular railroad were built from just a few standard blueprints.  You can search some of the railroad buff, model railroading sites.

For example, here are structure plans for Southern Pacific:
