I was listening to the radio about the pipe bomber, and heard a newscaster mention that they had found the suspect by tracking his cell phone.  But every other story I heard this was not mentioned.  Anyone else heard this?

Yup...they sure did! Apparently he made a number of calls while on the run. They didn't give much detail, but they could narrow his location down to about 25 sq miles by determining which Cell Tower he was accessing. Then all they had to do is concentrate searches in the area.
