Yeah....though we've been trying to convince the sharks to actually feed on the whiny, nasally, obnoxious NY/NJ swimmers. The feedback so far is the sharks would rather eat the anus out of an octopus than touch that.

Normal. I flew over Pompano Beach and the damn things were swimming in between people and no one down there had a clue.

You go swimming down here enough, chances are you had a shark meters away from you and you never even knew it.

you would not believe what I have seen on my Ski behind the shrimp boats when I go fishing... It liiks just like that with hundreds of 6' to 7' black tips following the boat waiting for the bycatch to be kicked overboard.... These are very hungry sharks and you have to be very careful not to slip and fall in...its alot of fun fighting an 7' shark on an Jet Ski!!!!

One of my good buddies from high school parents had a huge house down in Hilton Head.  We use to go down every summer for a week of fun and one thing we always did was go fishing.

We would just cast from the shore.  I would go up to about chest deep in water and cast.  You would be shocked by what we caught.  His brother caught a 7-8' shark about 5 years ago.  He had it stuff and they have it mounted at there house.  After seeing that I do not go into water any deeper than my waist.  That thing would have fucked me up.

Most of the fish we caught were surprisingly little sharks.  About 2' long.  You still have to be careful with them, as there teeth are still razor sharp.

Pretty much a yearly occurence.

People swimming at public beaches tend to not understand that sharks are close by at all times.

Happens every year down there. Surfed Brevard, Volusia, Palm Beach counties for three years and have seen more sharks there than in 15 years of surfing North Carolina. Only time I was concerned was when a huge shark was tearing up a school of fish between me and the shore at Chernobyls north of Sebastian Inlet. The fucker was easily 7 feet and was thrashing around like fucking crazy 30 feet away. Would disappear five seconds and then just fucking go bezerk. There were just a few guys out and when that happend the session was over. Caught a wave in and hated the paddle to the shore the last ten feet. Just knew my arms would be removed.

My wife grew up on the Black Sea coast and her question was, "Why don't they simply shoot them with helicopters like they did when I was a girl?"

Can you imagine the reaction if we took gunships and strafed them?

Got a bloody ton of noahs in the harbour and estuarys around here.  Cold waters outside combined with heaps warm water inside the harbour and estuarys results in a massive amount of fish inshore, so the noahs follow them in for a feed.

A heap of my mates still dont give a toss and fo for a swim in the harbour, even though I warned the bastards that they might get chomped.  There are so many around that I won't even dangle my legs in the water while I fish from my kayak.  My mates tell me to eat some concrete, but I sure as hell aint taking the risk, especially since the harbour is known for a ton of noahs, and attacks can be pretty common.  A navy diver was taken a few years back.

This.  Life-long surfer here and the only ones I'm scared of only come in small groups of two or three... or worse yet, rogue.  Those are probably nurse or black-tips, or maybe just some reef sharks.  The big ones don't look like specks, they look like submarines.

And here's my surfing contribution brought to you by the Outer Banks.

Me going over the falls in Avon.

I made it in but not out.
