Until I panic bought 4 33rd mags and ran them today at range.
What a blast! haha. Thanks guys. |

I don't need any, I want some though.
I might have to rethink the 9MM lower that will take the G18 mags now though. No use having the lower if can't get mags for whatever reason (ban, high cost etc.). Danny |

I had two when I had a G19.
Interestingly enough, when full, they improved my grouping lol |
|
More in the mag, the less you gotta fumble with the weapon in a high stress situation...at least thats one way to look at it
Then...more in the mag, the better the mag dumps ....and more expensive the mag dumps |

I like them, as long as I'm not shooting at a range that doesn't allow rapid fire. Then I get tired holding my arms out for the 33+ seconds it takes to empty one of those mags out

a friend of mine always said you needed them to spray your target because of the 9mm Glock's inaccuracy . Funny, my G17 is the most accurate handgun I've ever shot. I really don't care for the 33rd mags, they stick too far down and add alot of unneeded weight. But, If I come across some at a good price I might buy them just so I have a couple to throw in the back of the safe.

When I first put it on, I considered taking the backstrap portion off. It really messed my with my grip when drawing from a holster, and took longer to correct which really hurts during a match. Since then, I changed my draw slightly. I dont bring my right thumb all the way around until my left hand makes contact with the gun, and "locks" everything into position. This really helps with getting a consistent grip every time. |

I only have two factory 33 rounders for my G19. Should be enough to get me by though. They are just neat to have.
Just ordered ten of the Korean 15 round G19 mags the other day, along with 10 Wolff extra power springs. Heard good things about the Korean mags, as long as they get some plastic mold flash cleared out and better springs installed. Should make great range mags (will cost me about $12 each, including new springs), and take the load off the six factory G19 and two factory G17 mags I have. Just got my Glock about 2 months ago. Not really panic buying (don't really think a new ban has a snowballs chance considering the new majority in the House). Kind of stinks that I'm just building up my mag stocks at this time- prices went up a little and inventory is low at a lot of dealers. Oh well. Just glad I already stocked up for all my other guns a long time ago. |

I just bought a Kel Tec Sub 2000 that takes Glock mags. I need to find a good deal on the G18's. Anyone test the Korean made mags? I want to get three of them. I haven't had a chance to take the Sub 2000 to the range yet, but it fits nicely in my Maxpedition Monsoon Gearslinger bag. This: http://www.survival-spot.com/survival-blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/kel_su2000.jpg With 3 of these: http://sgcusa.com/images/large/Glock_18_Magazine_A.jpg Inside of this: http://images.outdoorpros.com/images/prod/5/Maxpedition-0410B-rw-9099-6196.jpg I have seven of the Korean 17 round mags. They are marked KCI on the base plate. I use them for IPSC practice indoors with a concrete floor to save my precious factory mags. They work great. I had a little trouble with the five I just bought. They seemed to bind a little bit with ammo loaded at 1.150 OAL, but they all fed fine. No malfunctions. However, the base plate cracked on one of them after hitting the concrete floor only about five or six times. I hope they all don't break that easily, but it's a cheap fix. |

I wanted them for a Lone Wolf/ASA side charging 9mm I want to build. Hopefully those will work in combo. It'll be a cool gun if it works as planned.

I never had any until recently. I bought them mostly because a number of politicians I despise blabbered about how awful they are, which is all the endorsement I needed.
|
|
If anyone has emptied two G18's at the same time you know the answer to that question.
|
|
Me either, that's why I have been buying them for a while......to keep them off the streets, for the chilluns.

The base plates on the KCI's crack when dropped. I bought one to test. It failed badly.

I love not having to reload for 34 rounds. I am going to get a few more when the panic buying stops.

I don't recall where I saw the thread now, maybe in the AR-15 section under pistol caliber AR's but there is talk of some lowers being made that accept these mags. I bet someone will know and post info about it. It won't Oly. Danny |

Absolutely nobody needs a 33 rd magazine for any handgun!
They need several |

Absolutely nobody needs a 33 rd magazine for any handgun! They need several I agree, that's why I have 4 of the evil 33rnd factory mags. Never thought plastic and steel could be so scary, but sure enough the whole neighborhood moved when they heard I had 4 polymer rectangles with springs in them inside my house/ |

do you think they are going to be outlawed If you're asking me, heck I don't know. All I do know is, for whatever reason back in the late 80's or early 90's there was a shooting on a subway up north, the perp used Winchesters Black Talons in 9mm and after the shit hit the fan and the media blew it all out of porpotion, Winchester/Olin stopped selling them to us peons to save face. They just dumped the black coating and made the bullet look a bit different IIRC and resold it IIRC later, LEO could still get Ranger ammo...same boolit IMO. But anyway, I had a FFL at the time, after the shitstorm on one day, I called my distributor the next morning and all of them were sold out, basically overnight. I learned my lesson, nothing is guaranteed in life. Glock could say fuk it and stop selling the mags and ,gov slap an import ban on the Korean mags for all I know. Then 1994 brought the primer shortage. Got to learn from history yo. My opinion only. Danny |
