NO Mini guns, rpgs or other BS like that. Over the counter gun shop gear only.
You must traverse Detroit , you will be passing thru downtown and rough parts of the hoods, in total 20 miles...you can only have what you can carry on your person and in a small college type packback , and also long guns you can shoulder. Assume this is a small SHTF situation where police are busy with other larger issues and not responding quickly. Go! G17 Sub2000 G17 model that uses same mags with 4x optics Ruger Mark III supressed SBR AR Supressed Packapack full of pmags and g18 mags |

An infantry platoon.
With the advantage that I don't have to carry them, they can carry me. |
|
The number of throwdown guns I'd need would make traversing such an area on foot difficult. Give me a dumptruck full of Hipoints and Jennings and then we'd talk. After all, its a SMALL SHTF. Gobmin't is coming back.

Probably either an SBR'd M4 in 6.8 or an Uzi.
I'm leaning towards the Uzi as it will function as a hell of a bat in the event I run out of ammo. Throw in a Springfield XD for a sidearm. |

Something belt fed.
Anyone have that picture of the shorty Rhodesian RPD handy? |

The 1st Marine Division
OK, serious answer: AR-15 with 20" barrel and Trijicon ACOG, S&W M&P9 secondary. A good pair of boots, durable clothing, flashlight, and a willingness and ability to move silently at night. |
|
does it have to be detroit legal? ETA: judging by the answers, i'd say no. so... suppressed FS uzi. |
|
seriously it wouldnt matter.
It would be like Mogadishu. Swarms of enemy combatants, you couldnt carry enough. |

Back in the mid 80's I knew a MSP trooper that was transferred to detoilet.
He said their major function was to get stranded motorists off the freeways before the car strippers got there. If the owners were there, they would get robbed. If not the car would be picked clean in a matter of minuets. |

Question... why the F would I be in Detroit in the first place? It's like Chicago as far as I'm concerned.... No Go zone. My maps have that sea-monster thingy with "There Be Monsters Here" on it in the general area of Detroit and Chicago.

I thankfully will never have to do this but I would want a FN PS90 SBR suppressed with as many mags as I could fit in my backpack..Or a 5.7 pistol
|
|
I think I'd just use my 3 gun setup. 16" AR, 9shot 12ga and M&P9. Add in as much ammo as I can carry and I'll be good to go. While suppressed is awesome, I want every SOB to hear the ruckus. Most people would be avoiding gunfire anyway.

Every day is SHTF in Detroit. I couldn't carry enough firepower to make me comfortable there and I never, ever plan on visiting.

You guys picking your loadout have no comprehension of the amount of firepower they have down there. It is truly staggering.
In one basement alone I saw well over 100 firearms ranging from handguns to fully automatic long guns. Oh, and an absolute no fear of the law. So much so that the cat that was buying an AK took it outside in the driveway at NOON and let thirty rounds rip into the air with it. Then proceeded to finger fuck it for ten minutes right there in the open. He decided to buy it and threw it in his trunk. And this was on 7 mile road. Just a mile inside the border of Detroit, this wasn't downtown, this wasn't in a factory district. It was in a burb sprawl of detroit that is now ghetto, but still a place where fuckers mow their lawn and paint their street numbers on the curb. -V |

Secondly Detroit stories are always funny.... or sad, one of the two. |

can I put the small college type packback in a radio flyer wagon and then pile the extra ammo and mags on top of that?
eta: tactical wheelbarrow too awkward to use |
|
My AR with the largest mags I could get. My Glock, but I'd want to buy more mags for it.

I wouldn't want to take around from one little alone 5 or 10 or them.. I picked those because it is the most ammo for a concealable platform.. My first plan would be to avoid at all cost any contact with any one.. but if I have to go hot, I want ammo.... |
