Wow!  I've never actually seen one for sale.

If you ask me, $7000 seems kinda low of a reserve price.  I know I sound crazy, but if there are only 80 of them in the US, I would think it could sell for a lot more than that.

I mean, there are about 6 times more SIG550s in the country, and those babies sell for $7000-9000.  I'm arguing about the rarity of the piece, not quality, so no "but the SIG is SOOO much better" posts please.

Interesting.  The picture is of the newer model FAMAS (the "A2" if you like).  The big differences are the AUG-like handguard and the ability to take AR15 magazines (instead of the rare and pricey FAMAS magazines).  This last change was done in the interests of NATO standardization.

All of the 80-100 (I've heard both figures) imported were originally in the "A1" configuration.  They got caught in the 1989 weapons import ban.  

If this one has been modified to "A2" as the picture shows he might actually get $6000.  On the other hand, if anyone is thinking of buying it, check it carefully as that is probably not a picture of the actual rifle on offer.  

FAMAS is a nice little gun.  But just a 'little' over priced.  Thank you to your government.

Yes, it is ugly.  But I think it is a little too expensive in price.  There are only 80-100 Franchi SPAS 15s in the US, and they sell for about 1500-2000 a piece.

actually the famas is a pretty good bullpup with a decent record of performance. if i was rolling in dough i would be tempted to buy it. looks dont concern me as much as its use. a weapon is a weapon. true you could buy a postban aug for cheaper, but price doesnt have anything to do with looks.

If you have the money now, I would buy it.

You can buy a preban AUG NIB cheaper. French guns suck, all of them. I can't stand anything french except for a few of their whores. And even then on a limited basis. We liberated the wrong country 55 years ago. These are the same Aholes who got us involved in Korea and Nam and then quit and left us holding the ball. Gee they did it in WW2 also. If you got 6K, buy a real gun, or several of them.

Yes, it would be great to have a utopian government.  But a government without the parts you describe is impossible to obtain.  Only Anarchy would lack those things.

It is half the gun the AUG is at twice the price. Other minor bitches are the cocking handle inside the carry handle is a pain in the ass location. The bipod is poinless in this gun. It is an ungainly horrible balanced thing that is a bitch to carry, unless your foolish enough to use the carry handle. AND IT IS MADE BY FRENCH PEOPLE!



These guns are important to own so when you shoot commies you have a familiar fire signature.

I don't consider Austrias Freedom party socialist and while Britain may be socialist for all practical purposes it is officially not, so the Lee Enfield has no business on this list. The Galil is the only firearm that belongs to what MAY be a socialist country. But I consider Israel to be more "fvcked in the head" than socialist.

Again the Democratic Republic thing. Please keep in mind that a government is only as good as the people in it. So yes, much of our government is very fucked up. But if we replaced Hillay and all the other losers with good people we would have a good government without changing the government specifically. So rarely do I have to correct, or even disagree with libertarians, that I am a little surprised. Yes, good guns can come from bad countries, but the famas is a POS from France.
