A couple weeks ago a sitting Sheriff in Kentucky was killed in a so-called sniper style shooting.  Does it suprise anyone that the anti's are calling for a ban on "sniper" rifles?

I wonder why the media doesn't call them hunting style shootings.  When you hunt you stalk the prey, setup a high powered rifle with scope, and take a shot to the make the kill.  This is exactly what happend to the Sheriff.

I would love to see the media change the description, putting the entire hunting community on edge for a change.  Let's face it, when you hear sniper style, you assume an evil black rifle and a military type gun nut.  When in fact, the standard hunting rifle is a more likely weapon to be used.  The description change would deny the anti's any more fuel for gun bans. Unless they wanted to call it a hunting rifle or high powered rifle ban.  Either one would energize the entire hunting community to fight against them.

Anyone suggestions on how to get the description changed?
