Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Need info on replacement windows

I'm looking at buying my first home but the windows and frames need to be replaced.  The house is in a gun/class 3 friendly state and county.

The appraiser was out today and had a cow because the trim around the windows was bad and had lead paint that is peeling.

Since I've never done this before I have no idea what is involved in replacement windows.  What's type of price range can I expect if I replace all the windows?  $1,000 $5,000 $10,000?  Do window companies do financing?
