Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - M-14s in the newspaper

I buy the paer, turn to the comics and see an M-14 held by a man with poor trigger finger dicipline in "Gasoline Alley".  Some police officers were watching.

I rarely get the paper, so I don't know what is going on.

Anyone here follow it and can explain?

I'm sorry you must have purchased a newspaper from the early 60's, the DoD switched to the M16 in the mid 60's... [:P]

The two little girls were eavesdropping on a newspaper cartoon strip writer who was discussing his plans for an upcoming strips about terrorists with his son. He also has a gun rack in the room that they saw.

Some other guy accidentally set the fireworks factory on fire-doesn’t every town have one?-so the girls assumed that the cartoon strip writer is a terrorist who set the fire. For some reason he is still discussing the upcoming strip about terrorists with his son while he plays with a rifle he took off the rack so the police, who are watching, think he is a terrorist too.
