The company I work for currently took the contract company I worked for, for nine years in-house last year. When they did I applied for and got a entry level management position. Keep in mind the bonuses are given out at the end of the first quarter of the new year. Yesterday after work I was walking out to my truck. I had just finished a seventy-two hour week and litterly had blisters on my feet. My department manager stopped me and asked me to turn around and go to his office. I asked him what was goin on. He replied it was good. I asked him who was it good for? He said "you" and laughed. We went to his office and he started in about how much he appreciated all my work and overtime etc. I am salary. I had just started to tune him out when he said "I am grateful to be able to present to you this certificate of appreciation. The dollar amount specified on it will be deposited into your account friday." I looked at it, $4000.00. I asked him if this was part of my yearly bonus and he said no it is in addition to it and thank you very much for your service. I was stunned. Happy but, stunned. Anyway I just felt like sharing the good news.

Every now and then, a good worker is appreciated.

My boss gave me my eval a few months back. He told me..."you work harder than everyone else so you are getting the biggest raise. I think you'll be happy". I was happy!!

That's great I am proud to hear there are still company's and employers that appreciate hard work and compensate for it sounds like you are a great asset to the company but don't let it go to your head LOL.
