I can see a guy trying to impress some bimbo in a bar with "I was a Navy SEAL.", but running for a political office and making that claim? Does it not occur to people that someone may investigate?

The Tums and pulse taking made the video.
"Ugh. It's calamine lotion." |

Why does it always have to be seal team 6? because SEAL team 6 is the "super secret" one... phonies go full retard right off the bat, so it's a lot easier to spot them, and it makes outing them more enjoyable... it's like that with all imposters... if you're going to make up a fake life, go big or go home. |
|
too bad congress didn't have the desire or work ethic to pass the Stolen Valor bill. I think they should be imprisoned for impersonating congressmen and women. They are as bad as Mr Cryer. |

Quoted: Why does it always have to be seal team 6? ST6 or "DEVGRU" claims often out the poser without even having to do much research as SEAL Team 6 dissolved in 1987. This puts most of your current posers in diapers or elementary school when the Team ceased to exist. We actually just outed a local ST6 poser here in town - he even had a personalized SEAL T6 license plate! |

I don't think any SEAL would want to bypass BUD/S. It's a right of passage.

Marchinko headed the Team and hand picked his operators from SEAL Team 1 IIRC. It was basically a HSLD super secret anti-terrorist team that was on call 24/7/365. Another one of the ones that I really don't get. The guy really was in the Navy, and from the sound of it served admirably for a single enlistment. There is nothing to be ashamed of there, as a matter of fact most people would be proud of it. I had an Uncle that served a single enlistment in the Navy, on an Aircraft Carrier, he was very proud of his service. Another Uncle served two hitches in the Coast Guard, He served in Libya (before the current regime obviously), and on a Wind Class Ice breaker, he was always very proud of that.
Myself, a single term in the Army, I was in the Signal Corp, nothing terribly special about my career, I had a good time, I learned a lot, I made life long friends, but that was it. Everything I did was mundane, I did work around some things that were secret, or classified, but nothing more interesting than the technical specs of some of the encryption devices we used. While I did perform support services for Special Forces units from time to time, even that was very pedestrian and mundane. The heaviest action I ever saw was in some of the bars down range in Korea, and the MP's normally took all the glory in that combat. |

The Tums and pulse taking made the video. "Ugh. It's calamine lotion." That guy's hilarious. On a serious side it makes me sick how many posers are out there. It pisses me off and I can't imagine how much it pisses off guys that actually are Navy SEAL's for someone to make the claim and totally disrespect what the real guys have done and sacrificed. |

We actually just outed a local ST6 poser here in town - he even had a personalized SEAL T6 license plate! Last year I got called by a guy in a town 40 miles north of here. Meet him at the school in town, he was accusing a school employee of a heinous act, and we go into an office. I start to make small talk and this guy says he was in the service. I ask him what branch, he replies, "Special Ops, blacks ops mostly". It was so hard to not bust out laughing. He spouts on about his exploits in El Salvador in the 80's, I just hand him more rope nodding and asking more questions. He finishes up by telling me that he was recruited by the CIA out of tanker school and sent directly to El Salvador. Unh huh. Long story short, his accusations were completely false, as was his service exploits. I got to call the CIA watch center at Langley and speak with one of there federal law enforcement guys. We had a fun talk and he thanked me for the information. Idjit has now moved to Texas with his family last I heard. Looking further into his background we found out he'd gone AWOL from motor transportaion school in the early 70's and been arrested in the late 70's for desertion after a traffic stop in Arkansas. I was just an SP in the AF, but I love seeing them hammering these imposters and fake POSs. |

Pfffffffffffft..... I was recruited straight from birth. A SEAL recruiter walked straight into my mother's hospital room right after going through labor and after inspecting my like some Spartan baby told her, "This child is a fine specimen and worthy of the title Navy SEAL, his training will commence on his 10th birthday. He now belongs to the state"
Yea, that's how that went down. |

Of course it may have been that they foresaw an upturn in optempo in the upcoming years and reevaluated the 1973 birth pool and changed their mind about me. I just use that whole Signal Corp thing to maintain my cover. |
