  This has to be the best drinking song of all time, even though I don't have a fooking clue what the fuck they are saying except for a few select afrikaans cuss words. This is what Pirates listen to when getting pissed on grog and beer!  That's my chommies Ninja, Yo Landi Vi$$er and some guy that helps her grammy put the groceries away. I can't believe that they are going to be nearby. Cutting out of work an hour early and shooting straight up to Boston to see them.   |

The crowed ended up being pretty decent actually. 21+, many in the young professional demographic, but plenty of students. Level of college students did not reach the annoying level at all. Despite the loopy sceanesters, mods, and occasional cross dresser, it was a great mix. Not pretentious, good class mix, whatever.... Die Antwoord was great. They got the crowd going, defused a sissy slap-fight when a few hipsters decided to go at it. Some chick in the crowed got on some dude's shoulders and YoLandi spat streams of water at any and all attention seeking women.  Ninja and Yolandi have some stage presence and skills, never broke character at all. Good energy all around. Great sound. Ninja freestyle was awesomely vulger. Think Borat meets Eminem, meets Trailer Park Boys. They are pretty much everything you would hope they would be live. If they are coming to a town near you, GO, and drink shitloads of beer. I think that Yolandi got a new set of titties during her stay in the states.  She also can really move nicely when she isn't sneering, spitting, or mooning the crowd (which is awesome also).I think that all swears should be in afrikaans now, everywhere. It is clearly the best language for swearing. I was afraid that the entire "Zef" asthetic would be lost on people with the concept of South African rednecks seemingly as strange as a black polish heavy metal band, but Boston is pretty smart so they figured it out fine. Doos Dronk is also my newest drinking song FOKOFFPOLICECAR!Oh, got my CD signed   Upcoming Dates: Sunday 10/31 La Zona Rosa Austin Tx Monday 11/01 Stereo Live Houston, TX Wednesday 11/03 The Cannery Ballroom Nashville TN And I think they are in New Orleans Tomorrow (Saturday night). |
