I thought that a new topic without any references to anything we have discussed here in the past couple of days would be a welcome change of pace.

I love to ride dirt bikes, although I do not get to ride as much as I want. I have a thumper (four stroke), a Yamaha YZ426F that I absolutely love. It was my first dirt bike and I had to learn fast as it was way too much bike to start out on, but as I am 6'5" and 250lbs., I needed a big bike and after research I wanted the 4 stroke that Yamaha offered. We typically go riding 2 times a month, mostly motocross but I have not gathered the courage to try a triple yet or even a big step-up.
Does anyone else like to ride?

DR350  :)

KLX300. Lighter than YZ426 and way less power. Fun in the woods, though. I'm waiting for an updated version from Kawasaki that bumps up displacement to 400cc and has electric start.

Hopefully, it will weigh the same or just a little more than the current model. Rrrriiigghhttt!

Nice choice on the YZ426.  I had a YZ250 that was a lot of fun.  The problem was, after al while I had almost nowhere to ride it (like a two stroke 250 needs to be ridden!) so I sold it and bought a 600 sportbike.  I wouldn't have sold the YZ if I had reliable places to ride it.  I'll get another one someday as I miss riding motocross tracks.  There's nothing like being totally airborne off a jump on a bike! [:)]

The ZX-6R is a lot of fun too and it's way faster (but way more dangerous) to boot!

i have a honda xr650 on/off road i took all the turn signals off so nothing gets broke. it is fast going down the road!!

It's hard to BUY a YZ426 around here!  They are sold before they can be parked on the dealer's floor!  You will pay sticker price, if you want to own one!

Quick story.  Me and a buddy of mine took a road trip from Indianapolis, through Colorado, Utah, down to Arizona, across to New Mexico, back up to Colorado and then back home.  Me on my ZX-7, him on his 900RR.  I was about a week and a half trip covering well over 2000 miles and none of it was on a trailor.

We got plenty of looks when people saw bikes with Indiana plates and i cant count how many times we were asked if we had back problems because "those bikes look so uncomfortable".

Best vacation of my life.

Sold the ZX to a guy in Finland who wanted it so bad he paid for the shipping from Indiana to Florida, then across the ocean to his home.

Oh yeah, dirt bikes.  Same buddy of mine both gave up the street.  I have an RM125 and he has a DR350 now.  I must say i have more fun (in a different way) in the dirt.

Me, I ride a Husqvarna WXE-360 two-stroke.  It has incredible low range torque and makes an excellent bike for getting up slimy, rooty, rocky trails.

My brother rides a Yammy 426F, now thats one hell of a bike!

My dad has a KTM-400 four stroker which is also a really good bike.

Hmmm, motorcycle season is just about a month away.  Where I'm at, its still prime snowmobiling conditions, but thats ok cause thats the other 50% of my offroad motorized joy.

I've been riding since I was 12.  Started racing motocross back when it was all middle-European bikes (Maico, CZ, DKW, Bultacos, etc).  Had one of the first 125cc Honda Elsinores in the country.  Graduated to 250's and did lots of desert racing in Las Vegas.

Got old, got hurt, gave it up.  I miss it more than I can say and am still tempted to get another bike.  The 4-stroke Yamahas are awesome but I'll probably get a YZ-125 if I get back into it.  There's nothing like flipping a bike sideways over a jump or screaming across the desert at 75mph!  I went to the outdoor MX Nationals in Minnesota last year and it was awesome.

Anyone that has never sat at the starting line of a motocross race doesn't know what butterflies are all about.
