BTW, I love Rep. Mica (R-FL)!

If Sam Johnson wasn't my Congresscritter, he would be my first choice to replace him.

Done.

I first saw the term "Congresscritter" in a Claire Wolfe book.  Anybody know where it originated?

Say that you are from FL- it may make you a bit more important to Rep Mica.

same here.

arming pilots won't do jack sh!t.

this is another "feel good" attempt.

just like federalizing security at airports, it ain't done a bit of good.

While this may amount to a mere abdication of personal responsibility, it is also "the nose of OUR camel" and can drive a wedge between the Liberals and our rights!  Also, it puts a layer of security in the air...

It will not get me to fly commercial anytime soon, tho, I am still waiting for the assertion of my rights while airborne, and seats large enough for an honest 54L...

Still, it's a step in the right direction.  Sig #13275

maybe what the ALPA has to say would be of some interest...

look here

'course for some of you doubters, we could concede that there were in fact a million moms at the march, ....how's that for ya ?

this is a step in the right direction for our rights

previous to 911, the pilots would have been passive to the threat (the hijack outcome *had* always been for $ or a political prisoner exhange, etc.) and the security did *not* fail.  you could cary a pocket knife, nail clippers, a box knife, etc.  only since 911 has all that changed.

the FAA will expect the passengers to thwart any hijack attempt, (yeah right, where's my SwissArmy knife - back at the terminal building).  the arming of pilots creates a new dimension of security and expression of rights with a very large number of supporters.....hopefully all of the readers of this board.

a friend of mine that works for Alaska Airlines sent me the email about ALPA and also this, "Continental Pilots are proposing that there be national pickets in favor of it."  He did not provide a source and I can't prove it either, however if it happened, it would be the biggest attention getter to this cause.
