But surely you don't expect me to judge a person by his ethnicity alone? I'm not saying Tel Aviv should be nuked because of Seinfeld, nor am I going to look for excuses for Israel's actions in Occupied Palestine because the Stooges were funny. Doesn't have anything to do with each other. Totally unrelated. Same way the holocaust is no justification for Israel to treat Arabs as subhumans. Same way a bad childhood or being bullied by other kids is no excuse to shoot a dozen of co-workers or students. Maybe an explanation, but certainly no excuse. |

Have ALWAYS dug the Stooges. Spent about 7 months unemployed (by choice) and recorded them on AMC just about every day. Now have a sterling collection of 6 tapes. True, I couldn't watch them constantly, but they're great to pull out and view every couple of weeks.[stick][smash]

They're funny in the same sense that Jim Carry is funny (or not). If you like cartoonish, exaggerated, over-the-top acting (for lack of a better word), you'll like both.
To me, watching a Stooges movie is like watching a bunch of 5-year-olds who [i]think[/i] they are funny — which, as every parent knows, completely ruins it. |

extremely funny and poignant and if you looked beyond the slapstick the humor was very intelligent and political for the times and actually relevant for todays time. remember, "Hasan Ben Sober" or "Hey a microphony, yeah and a phony at the mike"

The stooges were great! I loved "Our Gang" too.
BTW, Paul Harvey did a "Rest of The Story" a while back on the 3 Stooges. Turns out, the ones we all know and love are NOT the original 3 stooges. There were some before them, but they didn't make for some reason. I forget what. FYI. |
