... but what about dreams where you shoot someone repeatedly and they just won't go down? I had a dream the other night when a woman was trying to do a home invasion and I unloaded my .45 into her face, but it didn't stop her. I remember thinking "Man! I wish I had my .357 mag."

So, what is the significance of this?

Bukkake???

It is supposed to represent a manifestation of the loss of control you feel in your everyday life. Even though in the dream you prepared yourself and did everything reasonably possible it was fruitless which is an analogy of what goes on in life, You prepare for everything possible but still come up against the unexpected and things you have no control over no matter what you do.

I really gotta say dreams about not being able to pull the trigger on your gun really are a deep down sexual insecurity.

I don't dream about guns, but I do dream of Jeanie.

I never have to shoot people in my dreams.  I just rack the slide on my revolver and they turn into scrumptious nubiles.

Yeah it's definitely an anxiety dream of some sort.

I have had that dream before (rounds don't put the bad guy down) and I have also had the mags won't fit into my rifle or I can't reload fast enough dream.

I have these now and again.  The one that sticks out the most is that I have a shotgun but can't shoot the bad guy because it's covered in vinyl or something.  Just can't seem to pull the trigger, I hate it

It means you need more range time so you can place your shots better.

On the other end of the scale people who feel they have everything under control tend to have dreams of being able to fly.

Dave Grossman has a bit on this in his book "On Combat". It's apparently very common.

I don't believe that it's a feeling of out of control or stress or anything like that.

I used to have those dreams when I first started carrying a pistol and was practicing all the time.  My skills were high, I was young and in college, didn't have a care in the world really.

Now, I have more stress, more responsibility, don't shoot as much.   I haven't had any "gun" dreams in a long, long time.

I have a friend who was in the sandbox a killed a couple of hostiles.
He said he never has those dreams anymore, guns always work in his dreams now.

I get the 300 # trigger pull too, except for one dream where I had an HK93 style rifle, and was able to shoot it. I have wanted an HK93 ever since I had that dream.

This means you either have a very stressful job, financial woes or personal stress.

How'd you know?  Yep, it's a suppressed see-through polymer glow-in-the-dark with a 10" barrel and it's shoots 30-06 shotshells.  The handle is water-filled glass and I keep a school of micro tetras in there.

Reminds me of a problem that I have called REM sleep behavioral disorder.  I will occasionally have a dream that I am punching the shit out of someone and it isnt doing anything.  Only problem is, with sleep behavioral disorder you actually throw the punches in the bed in real life so I end up flailing wildly in my sleep.  It has led to some not so happy moments with the GF.  I too have had the gun wont fire or is unloaded dreams as well, luckily im not sleeping with a rifle in my hand

I had a dream once that I was in my bathroom and someone came in and was going to shoot me with a nickel-plated 1911. I forget why, but I protested. "No, please don't," I said. The shooter replied something like, "I have to." To which I responded, "Well, okay, but I'm not going to like it."

Then he shot me, and I woke up.

WTF.

I've had the same.  No ammo.  Shots have no effect, bad guy still goes about his business like I'm not even there.  The gun falls apart in my hands.  Can't pull the trigger.  Haven't had a dream like that in forever.

Ive had the 300# trigger but I feel like its me just freezing and not being able to squeeze the trigger.  Weird, I never would have thought other people have that dream.
