Someone needs to research what the Internets were originally designed for.

First vote. Yes it would survive. ARFCOM is of no strategic value. They don't suspend the constitution every time there is a world war.

public use of interwebz would be shut down so fast heads would spin off the mount.

Would you try to access ARFCOM from a FOB during WWIII if the FOB had teh internetz and it didn't violate opsec? I would.

Yup. It would still be around, unless they nuked the servers.

I'd have a building full of morons posting all sorts of incorrect and misleading crap all over the internet.  You wouldn't know if you were reading a post from the front lines or the loony bin after a while.  Shutting down the internet is not possible now.  You'd just have to rely on stressing OPSEC and at the same time pumping out disinformation by the ton.

When the draft panel looks at a guy, the first question would be "What's his screen name?".

Just think of ARFCOM as the cock roach of the internet.

I think it would be severely restricted for National Security purposes.

Look at WWII and the rationing, retooling, recycling, and businesses converted from their original purpose to produce items or otherwise serve the government's needs.

ARFcom would be non-essential, perhaps even seen as detrimental, and most certainly not helpful or beneficial to conducting business or prosecuting a war.

Limited nuclear war, mostly conventional conflict.  Think more along the lines of Red Dawn or Red Storm Rising.

Unrealistic assumption. Do you really think there will be a conventional war between the US and Russia/China without use of strategic nukes?

If it is a conventional war, we will be here trading war stories.

I voted "NO"....I think any major conflict, foreign or domestic with the current overlords would bring ARFCOM down for info and communication.  I'm not an expert on how the internet works but I'm sure "they" could shut whatever they want down....experts chime in.
