Evanston IL. There was a loud explosion reported early this morning and a few hours later a headless male body was found near a middle school. Weird, but not GD. Now it's being reported that he may have Darwin'ed with a pipe bomb. Here's where GD gets to speculate before the facts are in. He was found by a playground with multiple canisters that the bomb squad was called in to move. Who is and what was he doing with pipe bombs at a playground at 4 something in the morning? Terrorist?

Maybe he was interested in explosions and not very good at it. Go to a place with lots of room like a school with a playground. There won't be anyone around to get hurt.

Fine. Back to school can be tough and all but seriously, it's nothing to lose your head over.

Also, just to be clear, there is no evidence of any terrorism here. Just a fireworks enthusiast that didn't make the switch to the patch soon enough.

One thing that has worried me with the threats of terrorism is random acts carried out by lone individuals outside of the big cities. Until there's more facts, this has my attention.

In that case it was clearly a test run to see what exactly the response would be to a headless body all explodded up in a schoolyard. Watch out for secondary decapitated jihadists and for teh love of all that is speculative please stay low and keep us updated.

UPDATE: their calling it an apparent suicide on the radio. If that's true, why did he bring extra ones in a bag? Did he honestly think that if the first one didn't take his head off, he would be able to try again? Was it supposed to be a Jim Jones deal, and no one else showed?

Suicide on the radio is taking too damn many of our kids. We need to outlaw radios, for the children.

Not quite sure how the mechanics would work but well....you know...for the kids and stuff.

ETA: I guess that explains the whole "Boom Box" thing. My mom always told me not to hold it up to my head. I guess she was right after all.
