I guess you really did it this time
Left yourself in your warpath
Lost your balance on a tightrope
Lost your mind tryin’ to get it back

Wasn’t it easier in your lunchbox days?
Always a bigger bed to crawl into
Wasn’t it beautiful when you believed in everything?
And everybody believed in you?

It’s all right, just wait and see
Your string of lights is still bright to me
Oh, who you are is not where you’ve been
You’re still an innocent
You’re still an innocent

There’s some things you can’t speak of
But tonight you’ll live it all again
You wouldn’t be shattered on the floor now
If only you would sing what you know now then

Wasn’t it easier in your firefly-catchin’ days?
And everything out of reach, someone bigger brought down to you
Wasn’t it beautiful runnin’ wild ’til you fell asleep?
Before the monsters caught up to you?

It’s all right, just wait and see
Your string of lights is still bright to me
Oh, who you are is not where you’ve been
You’re still an innocent

It’s okay, life is a tough crowd
32, and still growin’ up now
Who you are is not what you did
You’re still an innocent

Time turns flames to embers
You’ll have new Septembers
musicjuzz.blogspot.com
Every one of us has messed up too

Lives change like the weather
I hope you remember
Today is never to late to
Be brand new

It’s all right, just wait and see
Your string of lights are still bright to me
Oh, who you are is not where you’ve been
You’re still an innocent

It’s okay, life is a tough crowd
32, and still growin’ up now
Who you are is not what you did
You’re still an innocent

Almost gets the dust flying for me.  This is Taylor Swift's new song, performed last night at the Video Music Awards.  It is her public forgiveness to Kanye West for what he did to her the year before.

An OUTSTANDING song, and example for everyone to follow.

it took great intestinal fortitude to sing a song with that message among that basket of heathens on a greased slide straight into the mouth of Hell

The video, and description is here

Essentially, she wins her very first Video Music Award for best female video, and Kanye jumps on stage, drunk off his ass, and spoils the entire night for her.

Ok. It's not country music though.

She has no talent in my opinion. You don't like Hank III, and I don't like Taylor Swift.

People like her, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, and Carrie Underwood are why I do not listen to my local "country" station.

Too be perfectly honest I think most everyone that is out now lacks talent.

Music is much more than just knowing how to play a guitar, or being able to sing well.

People like Janis Joplin, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, etc. would never make it now because they couldn't win the beauty pageant that music has become.

She "lacks talent." Whatever that means.

She also sells records, sings well, plays guitar, sells out concerts, writes her own songs, and makes generally good music.

I'd be OK with "lacking talent" if I could do all that.

yeah, she should totally give up the millions of dollars she gets now for performing the songs she writes and be a behind the scene songwriter...totally agree...

Dude, it ain't my bag neither... I'm a true Nashville honky tonk hero, but let her do her thing... plenty of room, here in Nashville, for bubble-gum country and outlaw country both.... should be plenty of room for both where you live too....
