Do you use a rifle vise when cleaning your rifles -

or do you just lay them on a piece of carpet or something on your cleaning bench?

If you use a rifle vise which one do you have, presently I use a homemade cleaning rest that just doesn't work as well as I'd like.
I'm thinking of getting one but there are so many out there that I'd like to know which ones everyone thinks work well.
Price really isn't a factor but ease of use is.

I've got a roll-around tool box with a foam insert cut out on the top of it. Drawers are convenient for parts soaking in CLP and the locking bar is great to have so I can keep my 1yr old out of everything.

Nope. I move my keyboard to the side and clean it on a drop cloth right on my desk.

No. I sit in front of the TV and lay down some newspaper and watch a good war movie while cleaning the guns.

I've got a Sinclair rifle rest for cleaning. Works well for bore access. I use a vice block in the mag well and crank it onto my bench for cleaning the lower.

Yes, I got one of those tappen (sp) plastic about 10 years ago. cheap and very effective

I guess I must be a bit more of a slob when I clean mine.
If I were to clean my rifles in my house in front of my TV I'd have great black stains on my white carpet in no time - especially when I clean my BPCR's....

This. I use an old T-shirt as a drop cloth, and I sit "indian-style" in the living room floor. That way i can watch TV while I'm cleaning.

3-1/2" Swivel Vise mounted on the bench with Magnetic Polymer Jaw Protectors. For AR's I use a DPMS claw for upper and a commercial magazine block for lowers. You'll appreciate having one if you get it.

Yes. And I use a bore guide too. Its easier to clean when the rifle isn't flopping around.
