Im try to conduct a survey of what everyone in these forums think is the best brand of Assault Rifle. Not to worry this isn't going to be published or used for profit this is between friends and like minded people I'm genuinely curious what everyone favors for an Assault Rifle.

I own some AR style rifles and components manufactured by the companies you listed and more by companies you didn't list, but I don't own a single assault rifle.

Pole is seriously flawed. How can you even ask the question and not include Colt? No S&W, Daniel Defense, among other solid rifle manufacturers.

1. If you don't want to look like a

, then learn to use the correct terminology. Regardless of what the media and politicians have you brainwashed into believing, An AR-15 type weapon is not an "Assault Rifle". I suggest you learn what the term "Assault Rifle" means and then stop using it where it does not apply.

2. Your poll is missing too many top tier companies to be worth anything. Matter of fact, you pretty much listed all of the companies I wouldn't vote for. You need to include Colt, LMT, SDI, BCM, S&W. You even missed Bushmaster? Not that I would have voted for it but how does anybody come up with a list of AR's and forget Colt and Bushmaster?

You do not have the ABC's of AR's (not assult rifles). AR stands for ArmaLite Rifle just so you know.

Actually, AR just stands for ArmaLite. They made a number of non-rifle firearms that carry the AR designation.

Err...Ummm... This poll=fail. No BCM or Colt, and no option to choose none of the above. And as already pointed out, semi-auto AR-15s are not assault rifles.

None of those companies makes an assault rifle.

By definition, An assault rifle is "a selective fire rifle that uses an intermediate cartridge and a detachable magazine". It would behoove you to familiarize yourself with the proper terms for guns, especially if you're going to be posting questions about them in a tech forum on a gun board.

For me it depends

For a hyper accurate bench rifle White Oak is where I would turn

For a general purpose hard use rifle BCM

For a .mil clone Colt.

If I ever won the lotto I would go KAC

There is not one Brand some are better at specific purposes than others

1) learn your terminology

2) get a decent picture of the AR market before trying to pose a "research question"

3) anything you do with these skewed results will be so insignificant you may as well not waste your time.

My favorites aren't listed. I don't own any assault rifles. I'm not sure that ANY of the Mfgs listed make assault weapons. ARs are not assault rifles. The politically correct term for ARs is "modern sporting rifle" as per the NRA. You sound like a
