Anyone ever use these?  I know that for the price they aren't exactly going to be performance parts, but right now all i need is a cheap muffler with an internal baffle to get my truck past inspection.

http://www.frtruckparts.com/parts/index.php?N=9164&Nr=OR(AND(make:Ford,model:F-250 Super Duty,year:2001),AND(universal:1))&Vi=10329 4294963364 1616&mk=Ford&md=F-250 Super Duty&y=2001&No=20&Npp=10

There are several there, I haven't measured my exhaust pipe yet to figure out which I need.  Should I avoid, or will they work just fine for a few years?

It will sound a little ridiculous, but will pass inspection and last for a little while.

If you want a reasonable sound out of them try a Gibson, not much louder than stock, and they last forever.

You should buy some smitty pipes or maybe some short glasspacks. Then weld up some 24inch echo tips.

Talk about annoying the crap out of your enitre street.

Thrush mufflers ARE glasspacks.

IMHO all glasspacks sound like hell. I like loud exhaust, but glasspacks have that marbles in a tin can sound.

Check out the Flowmaster copy's that Summit Racing sells. That are identical to Flowmasters on the inside, and sounds just like them. I've bought several of them.  Really cheap (Under $20), and sound great!!

I just removed the glass packs on my F150 and quieted it down with a Flowmaster. The noise does get old after a while.

No, I'm not looking at the glasspacks, I'm looking at the mufflers that look like the OEM oval mufflers.  I need to have something with an internal baffle to pass inspection, otherwise I'd say fuck it and just put a straight pipe in there.

I had them on my first car, and always liked the sound.

Then some drunk crossed into my lane and hit me head on...

I have a pair of Thrush Turbos on my 1955 Chevy...they are a little loud, but it may be the cam.

I'm sure cheap and annoying have been mentioned all ready. So I probably  have nothing to add.

I liked them back in the 80's.   Cherry Bombs too.

Not sure how all the new stuff sounds  nowadays.

Me too.  I wish I'd bought it back from the insurance company, even if I never did more than look at it sitting there.

With full tailpipes, they don't sound very loud as long as you keep your foot out of it .

I used to sell them they're not all that loud but they are pretty cheaply made. Dynomax owns Thrush they offer a muffler called the Super Turbo that would probably be a better choice and is maybe $10 - $20 more than the Thrush.

GlassPacks are ok if they are 36" long.  If not I want something else.

The Thrush mufflers used to be semi quiet. They used to make Hush Trush they were quiet. Cherry Bombs were loud. Of course I'm going back 30 some years now

I used to have Hush Thrush mufflers on my '67 Cougar, and they were mellow.  Now the glass packs, they're a different story!
