Hive mind:

I may have the opportunity to be interviewed by someone who writes occasionally for The New Republic, a magazine about which I know absolutely nothing.   Is it a liberal magazine, conservative, ??

They broke the story on the computer hackers that were so good, that corporations actually hired them.

Only problem, totally made up.

They deserve to be on the same list as the NY Times for it's Jayson Blair scandal.  Don't care if your conservative or liberal, you should dismantle your rag if something like this happens under your watch.

They are liberal.

They are like the neocons of the liberal world, in the sense that they supported the Iraq war.

Think of them as moderate liberals that are somewhat hawkish.

Depends on whose work you're reading on that site.

Interesting stuff for a "liberal" rag to be publishing.
My impression from a brief surf n' skim is that you'd be best served by determining who is to be interviewing you, and look at him instead.
TNR seems to be fairly neutral in what it "prints".
ETA: From Wiki:
The magazine generally supports liberal social and social democratic economic policies.

Also interesting reading here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Peretz

Which leads to here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_Institute_for_Near_East_Policy

Such a tangled web we weave...

Marty Peretz, the magazine's publisher, is an outspoken Zionist and has publicly admitted to anti-Arab prejudice.  That doesn't make him or his magazine any less liberal on anything else.
