How long is an AR15 with a 16 inch barrel and a collapsable stock with the stock closed? Thanks in advance!

I'm looking at a colt sp1 if that matters in size. They should be all the same right? I live in Mi, and if you have a rifle that has a folding/collapsable stock, that, when closed, falls under 30 inches, has to be registered as a pistol.

Thank you F4squid. Is that with or without a F/H or muzzel brake?

F4Squid,  I assume that's not a soft dimension then!  [:D]

Well, not laying around (until now). I looked at your post a while ago and almost answered "you're safe", but I couldn't remember the exact length. I didn't want to move all of the crap in front of the safe (I think they call it laziness=). But you sound desperate, so I just did:
My Colt measures 31¾" closed (mid 70s w the long-assed 3-prong FH}.

You're safe.

Under 32 inches, since that's what most Carbine and Discreet cases measure on the inside. [:D]

Edited to add:  Sorry, I just reread your post.  I can't see one measuring under 30 inches.  I think 31 inches is the average for a close telestock.

I see that Marvl is confusing centimeters with inches again...
