Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - road trip

A friend and I will be driving to Roswell NM(no,not to see THEM),4/21-4/28. We will probably drive through southern Az, and southern NM on the way(itinerary not fixed). Anyway what are some sights, places etc. that we should visit? Also
I would be happy to meet any of you living in the Roswell area.

When I was 11, my Grandparents took my brother and me on a trip that went through 11 western states, including New Mexico.
My uncle was stationed in Roswell at the Air Force base.
We went to [b]Carlsbad Caverns[/b] for a day trip and it was awesome...

Re. Carlsbad Caverns; I was there in 1961 as part of a boy scout jamboree. Truly, one of the most amazing and awesome natural phenommenon in the world; a must visit.One reason for rosd trip is to see it again.
