I bought about 2 dozen today at the store.

I hand picked them for uniform size and length.

I will cut the top off and scrape out the insides, being sure to get everything out.

I will fill each one with Pineapple Philly Cream Cheese and wrap with a full slice of bacon and pin with a tooth pick

there is something about the sweetness of the pineapple flavor with the bacon and the heat and flavor of the Jalapeno.

Honey Hush!

some people like to slice them lengthwise and lay them out on the side, but I prefer keeping them vertical

Bake them at 375-400 until the bacon is crisp
my pics will follow tomorrow but here is a preview...

these are actually very good in the oven.

The gas grill has no effect on the flavor and I'm not wanting to fire up the wood smoker just for these.

They are one of the most addictive freaking things I've ever eaten!!!

Actually, we've never tried the Pineapple cream cheese.....they are insanely good with plain stuff but we'll have to try the pineapple.   Thanks for the idea!

I'm not sure I agree with you 100% on your detective work

Prep pictures can be a part of the dinner pic experience, but IMHO this is still premature.

Looking forward to seeing the finished result, however!

honestly.. I really had no intentions of a full blown arfcom dinner pic

I just wanted to start a conversation about one of my favorite holiday foods and see what other people did differently.

Needs more meat. The reason you slice them in half is so you can add either a drop of pork sausage or a lil smokie.

ABTs rock no matter what you do with them so long as you use cheese, a hot pepper, and bacon.

Try glazing them with your favorite BBQ sauce for the last 30 minutes. Yum.

Your in TX & you bought Jalapenos? I figured those would grow like weeds do here in IA.

They should do really well down there, they love the heat. Easy to grow too.

I had a friend, a Vietnam vet who died about 5 years ago.

He could grow the darn things, and other peppers too.

His wife says that during the heat of summer, he would only water a select few just enough to keep them from dying and those turned out to be the hottest..

I don't know, that is just what they told me.
