Is it normal for a parkerized barrel to become discolored after firing rapidly? I shot 90 rounds in a quick succession and the barrel got rather hot (which is to be expected) and went from black to a rust tan color.

Had a barrel turn white after dumping 90 rounds in rapid succession.  Not white steel, just the oils on the barrel turned white.  It wiped right off.

That's what it was. I kind of figured as when I was firing the barrel it self was smoking. It wiped right off with some CLP. I have a tendency to oil the shit out of my guns.

Dremel flutes not only make your patriot AR15 lighter, and cooler..... The flutes retain oil through circular oilsmosis. Pretty neat huh? It's amazing what a dremel can do!
