I'm thinking of the Dell streak for my next phone. The only two downsides I can see is 1.6 android , which is a non-issue because it will be rooted, and the proprietary connector. I like the size, I watch a lot of video and do a lot of surfing. I think arfcom would look great on the 5 inch screen! Any input would be appreciated.TIA.           Dell streak

1- its a dell

2- 1.6 sucks

3- it is a dell

ETA- for a phone replacement it would be too big...but as a tablet it is about the size I have been looking for...

Would root it immediatly so the the 1.6 isn't an issue.

I think it is the perfect size,l. Huge screen, ultra thin and still pocketable

Well, enjoy. Personally I think it's way too big for a cellphone, regardless of what else you can do with it. I wouldn't want to haul that around 24/7/365.

I'm seriously considering it for my next phone. The reason why is it's small enough to still go into a pocket, it's the only phone currently out from dell so updates should be able to keep up with the android system (2.2 should be out fairly quickly on it),

Only reason I'm hesitant to buy on is that no one's unlocked it yet for t-mobile software wise (don't like the thing you stick between the sim and phone)

They have no plans on supporting Tmo's 3G network.

I have one

Everyone that handles it is very impressed

I'm going to be pissed if the 2.1 update isn't out soon

It supposed to bypass 2.1 and go straight to 2.2.

It seems nice, but I just picked up a galaxy S and love it to death. The 512mb of ram would be a great thing, but my 256mb on the phone works quite well as well. The 1ghz snapdragon process is quite fast.

It looks like the best option for me, I'm stuck with Att, and I refuse to take it in the ass from Steve Jobs any longer. It seems like it has the most potential of all android phones from Att.

Did you ever get it?

I'm seriously considering one.  My wife just got a backflip and I love the android OS
