Seriously..forestry is a hugh hugh industry up here. Worth a mention.

Fed or state jobs? Department of Environmental Conservation type stuff? National Park work? Pay may not be as good but the don't lay people off to often, do they?

Don't utilities hire contract companies that determine what trees can and should be removed when laying power lines i.e. are the trees they want to remove protected, which are the best to cut down etc. and also keeping track of trees encroaching on lines?

What about work outside the US consulting?

French Foreign Legion?

Ninja?

Gigalo?

My buddy's ex-girlfriend worked for a company that contracted with the utilities that did that stuff, he might remember the name (she no like me-earthy crunchy girl-"You CARRY a GUN!" so I don't think she'll help). She had similar degree from the New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. I know she works in the San Francisco area now and used to work in Steubenville OH but the company does contract work.

I looked into police work when a company I worked for went under. I had an offer to get into it-I knew a bunch of the guys and they seemed pretty cool, pay seems to vary a lot tho.

I wouldn't put my money into a gunstore, but opinions vary, I'm sure.
