Suppose all rifles, & handguns were limited to a total of 6 existing chamberings. Never, ever going to be any more, and YOU had to decide which six.

What would they be?

.45 ACP
5.56 SS109
7.62 NATO
.50 BMG
120mm Rheinmettal Smoothbore
16" BB Main Battery

I think that this list will protect you from 1 foot out to over 26 miles. Just keep fresh batteries in the 'BAT PHONE'. [:D]

So it's six total for handguns and rifles... but we can still have any shotgun gauge we want, right? [;)]

1- .22 LR; for plinking and/or small game.

2- .44 Mag; can use .44 Special for defense or Magnum for hunting.

3- .308 Win.; can be 'high energy' or 'target'.

4- .375 H&H; can be used for all game and has the approximate trajectory of the .30-06.

5- .45-70; can be used for all game at close range.

6- 12-ga.; for sheer versatility.

I believe that would do it for me.
