Not since 2001 and Im still running my last build , 2 years ago I made 2 upgrades to it a vid card and a new HD , the HD crashed hard this week . so back on the old 2001 era HD lol
Never built the one I wanted to , I wanted to build a custom case that looked like a spider with all the wiring coming out the back like the web . mocked it with cardboard and got every thing to fit but never built the case. |

Yes it is. I would so love to get the newer 6 core Thubans, but they still haven't gone down in price since release! |

I need a PC or hackintosh for some heavy-duty video editing. Think these are a good start?

Yeah, my Speak n' Say is overclocked at 5.93 GHz. Pretty impressive.

I build my own pcs's last on I built was right after that mongrel shithead got elected. I am about due for a new build next year. I don't play games much though,so I don't know how much I am going to put into it.

Have built every one of my desktops since 1997. So yes, you could say that I am into custom PC building.
|
|
I've only bought one desktop computer in my life, it was my first one in 1995. I upgrade my computer until it's no longer feasable and then I build a complete new system. I'm on my fourth homebuilt computer now. |

15 years ago or so I was into building them. Now, not so much. I'm the same way. My desktop currently sits in a 4u server case. I use to really be into the custom stuff when I was younger. I remember making my own direct water to die cooling block for an old pentium 3. Back then you used heater cores from cars as their really wasn't any custom radiators for computers then. The market was very young. Also remember using car neon lights because they were 12 volt and using window molding when you cut windows in the cases. |

At stock i7 speeds (2.8GHZ), it's running around 30C at idle. Thing is, I don't really trust software reported temps as far as I can throw 'em...but there ya go. |

I'm using my dad's build from 2003. I have since replaced the video card and memory, as the memory was fried in a power surge and the video card allows me to hook up my 24'' high definition flat screen TV to the computer. I use the TV as both a computer monitor and as a TV. Mostly as a computer monitor.
