I am currently deployed.  Been here almost 4 years so far.  I am a  low speed, high drag REMF.

Been deployed.  Didn't fire a round.  Many will say I should be thankful for that!

God bless every soldier before me that experienced any combat and risked everything for our country!!

Active duty USN here.

We detach to Bahrain and fly missions wherever they tell us to go.  Since we fly Hercs, I wouldn't call us high speed anything, more like a flying tuna can.

Same here; I was in the suck for a year and did not get a chance to fire my SAW (except when making sure the weapon was working); and i am happy for that.

Closest I got to Iraq was Kuwait for a couple years.  I have two confirmed kills against scorpions and one confirmed kill on a camel spider.  The military did all the "cool" stuff I just guarded the gate.

I've deployed in support of both OEF/OIF, but I've never actually been on the ground in either place.  Flown over both quite a bit, though.

So... I'm a high speed, kinda-sorta high altitude sorta guy.  There's nothing high speed/high altitude about C-130s or A-10s when they need gas, afterall.

That is looking to change on our next trip, but I still won't be high speed though.

I was in AF Security Forces with the 822nd SFS my whole six year enlistment.  Deployed every year from 2003-2007 totalling 24 months in OIF.  Nothin' special or anything to brag about.  It did get slightly interesting after graduating CPEC.  Nonetheless, kudos to all you high speed guys out there.

Was at Camp Blackjack/Victory for about 9 months then Camp Taji (sp?) for about 3 or 4 in Iraq.  The first month or so did patrols with my unit then got put on detanee guard at a dention center.  So basically didn't do shit for six months other than feed guys and take the to the shitters.  Then once in Taji did patrols again.

I never did care for the shorty SAW barrel. Blows too much gas and debri back in your face.
