Anybody remeber that joker a while back that did his own testing - by making his wife wear the vest while he shot her? Yeah buddy, this was the guy that wanted to know "if I was hit would I be able to return fire?" So he got his 98 #, no self respect having wife to don the vest and he shot her and she was to try to return fire with a paint ball gun. If I remeber the story correctly he worked his way up to a .38 before he broke her rib and they had to quit. Fucking Amazing what some folk do. |

A low tech arrow from a compound bow will slide right through a vest (unless it has a trauma plate, of course). I've seen it demonstrated. |

The story you guys are referring as I recall was just a joke and that it never happened, but then again not everyone is the sharpest knife in the drawer..... [:D]

There are pictures of Chuck Taylor getting shot with a vest on.
I remember a story (true I think) about two russian bank guards who were issued body armor. One told the other that it would stop a knife the second then stuck his bayonet through the vest and into the first guard, killing him. I've heard the state police academy shoots cadets wearing vests. I assume so they know what's it like, but I also bet to try and build their confidence in the vests. I bet they use something like really downloaded .38 rounds tho. |

Which is why it is taught in the Mall Ninja Academy that it is necessary to duct tape a trauma plate on your chest/back to survive a 5.56 round.

Scott Not sure who it was, but there was a fellow from Second Chance that would...crazy b*stard! yes, that was /is richard davis the patent holder for soft concealable body armor. he does it quite frequently, he came up with the concept when after his wife was robbed delivering pizzas in detroit, he got a pizza delivery call sounding very much like the one his wife got. so he grabbed a .22 revolver and made the delivery, a gunfight ensued, and i believe he killed one of the suspects, wounded the other and was wounded himself. in his words "while lying in the hospital, i thought there has to be a better way." and that's how it started. he is a very friendly, amicable and nice guy, as well as saving the lives of countless individuals. he also hosts the "second chance pin shoot" every year...... |
