The best way? Telnet into someones unprotect mail server and send it directly from their SMTP service.... still traceable, but not by the recipient. The owners of the mail server could figure out your IP, IF they ever investigated. If it is unprotected SMTP, then they are probably too stupid.

They're the only web-based email service I've found which does NOT include your IP address in the headers that they send. As anonymous web-based email services go, they're relatively anonymous. . . . The recipient could still subpoena them for any information they have about you. I think Hushmail is offshore, which might complicate things, however. Not necessarily stupid, sometime forgetful after testing... About two weeks ago I had the same thing happen to my mail server. I was testing things, adding some features, and forget to dis-allow relaying. Someone at [email][email protected][/email] was sending out bulk email via my server. I quickly put an end to that! As far as TELNET goes, you would still need an account and password unless the server in question allows uncontrolled access. |

Use a computer that doesn't belong to you or anybody you know and that you won't ever use again and sign up for a web-based email and send it then never use that web-based email again.

You could always change the info for the return address. If this is not feasible, you could always write a program to interface directly with the e-mail server.

Use a library computer to set up an account at hotmail, yahoo, or any number of other free e-mail sites.
then always use a different computer at a different library, or pay cash at an internet cafe. If you worked at a large company that has a PBX system you could use a laptop and reimage it after every use. There really are many different ways to do it, but remember ip addresses can be traced and calls can be traced and drives can be scanned. |
