In a few years a blogger will post video of ROP Imam screaming for the Death to the Joos and Death to America, nothing will happen outside of some enraged family members of 9/11 victims. Then in a few more years the feds will either bust a terrorist cell that has members either attending the Mosque or meeting there, or in a new Government report will include an account of how the Mosque was a key element in the next successful terrorists attack on US soil.

I think in the end, sadly It will be built and people will go on with their lives..

Now the NYC I grew up in back in the 70s/80s, it would be built but would keep catching on fire mysteriously :)

NYC is not the hardcore town it used to be.

Where is the option for it won't get built at al??. Consider how many Police and Firefighters died at Ground Zero- I can forsee a multitude of "violations", not to mention the "reluctance" of Union Labor to work, or allow others to work, on such a project. And don't forget the public reaction to the whole deal.

My prognostication:

Work will proceed on it, and a few months in some fire or other sabotage will
take place. Blame will be put immediately on white supremacist, Christian bigots.
Every alphabet agency in existance will lead a witchhunt to 'bring justice'.

Eventually, it will come out that the sabotage was done by muslims to gain
sympathy for the cause. The whole thing will then be forcibly swept under the rug.
