My wife and I are expecting our first child
within the next few weeks. We Do NOT know if it is a boy or girl. Our problem is selecting a name. We do have a name selected for a boy. However, we are still kicking around names for a little girl. I want something patriotic and very American. Perhaps a tribute to Sept. 11th. Your help would be appreciated. |

Please, for the sake of her, don't to anything stupid, or "tributey". She will thank you later.
Her are some good ones I like.. : Val Emily Noelle Britney Carlie Sarah Lisa Mica (my personal favorite.. not sure if it's spelled correctly, but it sounds like "mike-uh" I'll give you an AR mag if you name her Mica! That's all I can think of now..... Edit to add more: Sabrina Sam Samantha Ihla Heather Arrora Alice Olivia Amber Erienne (air-E-in) Easton Shawna Crystal |

Best I can do. I'll come back if I think of anything else. BTW, congratulations!! This will prove to be a much more significant event in your life than you can comprehend now. I am glad you are taking the name so seriously. You have really made my day by hearing this. With all of the brutality and ugliness in Israel, I am thrilled that all is well in your little part of the world. [:)] |

Go to Google and type in " Girls Names"---got 990,000 hits!!!
Don't you have any family members that you wish to honor by naming her after? http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/town/plaza/ge75/girls.htm |

Actually, my personal favorite's Jennifer. Not too many mean names you can make from that (i.e. Elizabeth=Lizard Breath, Natalie=Gnatalie, Margaret=Maggot).
My father used to say this: "With boys you only need to worry about one penis; with a girl you have to worry about ten thousand." |
|
Of course, I would suggest a Germanic name:
Lorelei It's pronounced 'Lo-ruh-lye'! It happens to be the name of my daughter. I picked out the name for my future daughter when I was about nine years old, after reading it in an old poem by Heinrich Heine. Eric The('Heidi'WasMySecondChoice)Hun[>]:)] |

First,
Go to an adult video store (or online site) and look up all the popular pornstar names. Then, AVOID THOSE LIKE THE PLAGUE. Maybe this says more about me, but I can't tell you the number of girls I know named Ashley Nicole, Brittany, Lauren, etc. You get the picture. Personally, I named my daughters Sophia and Lola. I was careful to avoid the "name of the year" fad. Every year there seems to be five REALLY POPULAR names that every kid seems to have. The method my wife and I used was pretty simple. She would constantly write down a list of what she liked. I had veto power, so I would cross out the names I hated and circle the ones I liked. After a few months, we eliminated THOUSANDS until I was happy. Good Luck. |

How many syllables are in your last name and what's the first letter?
I like to choose names that roll off the tongue well. |
