Is there a function to flip a the rows and columns in an excel spreadsheet? In other rows make the rows columns and the columns rows and maintain all formulas?

Use a pivot table, they are very powerful.

Copy -> Paste Special ->Transpose

I believe you can paste special and select the transpose option.  But the better option is a pivot table.
