I haven't been in about a year, but it's a great city. Excellent restaurants, broadway and off broadway shows (touring companies) although you would need to plan ahead to get tickets-some shows even a good concierge can't get, Chinatown is great to wander around in. If you are a first timer the CN Tower is a worthseeing, amazing view of the city. Great shopping, if you like that stuff.
The prices (at least at that time) are amazing. A hotel rooms that would have been $ 160 a night in other cities was $ 90. Of course watch where you exchange money so you don't get ripped off or use a credit card and I think you will always get the right rate.
There are excellent restaurants and with the exchange rate they are much more affordable than in NYC/San Francisco etc.
I would think about cabbing it/walking. It's a tough city to park in.
The old line is that Toronto is New York City run by the Swiss (i.e. polite and not dirty)
Oh the Zoo is out in one of the suburbs, but I thought it was a good one. In addition to "normal" zoo animals they had a great selection of north amercian animals, mountain lions etc.
